What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

We understand that plans can change, and we try to be as fair and transparent as possible. Cancellations Made 48 Hours or More Before Your Scheduled Flight *You may cancel for any reason. *Reservations paid directly with us will receive a full refund. *If your reservation was made using a third-party voucher (Groupon, Travelzoo etc.), your voucher will be reinstated for future use according to that platform’s terms.

Cancellations Made Less Than 48 Hours Before Your Scheduled Flight *No refunds *No rescheduling *No voucher reinstatement Because we operate with limited space and reserve your spot specifically for you, last-minute cancellations result in a complete loss of that reserved flight space.

How long is the hot air balloon flight?

Approximately 45 minutes.

Are balloons in the air before sunrise?

No. Flights do not launch before sunrise due to FAA regulations.

How long is the total experience?

Approximately four hours from meeting to return.

What happens after landing?

Guests enjoy a traditional champagne toast after landing with orange juice and bottled water. You are then presented with a personalized first flight certificate to commemorate your adventure.

How do you get in and out of the hot air balloon basket?

At Arizona Balloon Safaris, passengers enter and exit the basket using built-in foot steps located at the end of the basket. Guests step up using these secure steps and then step down into their individual compartment inside the gondola.

There is no climbing over the side of the basket.

  • For additional convenience, we also provide step stools when needed, and our professional ground crew assists each guest during boarding and after landing to ensure safety and comfort.

  • Because we operate America’s largest hot air balloon, our basket is divided into multiple spacious compartments, providing stability, comfort, and secure footing throughout the experience.

  • If you have mobility concerns, knee or hip issues, or questions about physical requirements, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can determine whether our Phoenix hot air balloon ride is a good fit.

Are gratuities included for the pilot and crew?

Gratuities are not included in the ticket price for our Phoenix sunrise hot air balloon ride.

If you feel your pilot and crew delivered an exceptional experience, gratuities are appreciated. The suggested gratuity is $10–$20 per guest, depending on your level of satisfaction.

Our FAA-licensed commercial pilots and professional ground crew begin preparations well before sunrise and work together to ensure a safe, smooth, and memorable balloon flight over the Sonoran Desert.

Tips may be given directly to the pilot or crew following the post-flight celebration
